From Bulgarian perspective that it is not an issue but having a personal bank account in your current country of tax residence can be seen as a reason to be taxed there as well. So, keep that in mind when deciding whether to keep your personal bank account there rather than having a Bulgarian one or using Revolut/TransferWise instead.

The answer is NO! Another great benefit you have as an entrepreneur migrating to a Bulgarian tax residency is the non-requirement to spend most of your time in Bulgaria to be considered as a resident.Once your company and/or personal residency are set up, you will only need to visit the country once a year (for 1-2 days) for renewals.

According to the European Union laws and guidelines, one can only use only one country’s social security laws at any given time. Therefore, you are required to pay your social security contributions to only one country at a time. This is more of the reason you need to settle on Bulgaria because this country has the lowest social contribution fees. For approximately only 70 euros per month, you can be completely covered by the nation’s insurance.Compare this to Belgium, for example, where the public national insurance fee is about 200€ or more and you will understand why many entrepreneurs like you, already moved to Bulgaria.

This can also be handled by the local Embassy of the foreign country in Bulgaria.
