I am a US citizen. I was looking for the best company structure to help me accomplish my dream of living in Europe. FF helped me acquire my Irish passport (my Grandparents are Irish) to gain EU citizenship; from there, the process was straightforward. Very happy with the service.

Flawless experience, perfect setup - What a fantastic experience working with the team of Freedom Formations. All the steps required to set up your company and benefit from the incredible tax benefits were laid out and prepared to the T. All steps needed were explained carefully and thanks to the guidance of Yordan and Maria the only care I had was being on time and placing my signature on the various paperwork.
If you have a (online) business, this is a no-brainer to do.

I was unsure of where to register my company and I was over paying taxes. I am glad I came across Freedom Formations and they gave me the information I was looking for and they got me set up right away.

A Game Changer for Businesses
I recently teamed up with Freedom Formations and was genuinely impressed. They offer a smart way for EU business owners to cut their tax rates to just 10%, all while giving you the freedom to choose where you live. It's a big promise, but they actually deliver, focusing on both financial savvy and lifestyle freedom.

If you're looking to optimize your taxes without being tied down to one location, Freedom Formations could be worth a look. They blend professional tax expertise with a genuine understanding of the entrepreneur's need for flexibility and simplicity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What businesses CANNOT establish and operate under Bulgairan's tax system?
The short answer is none. Offline brick-and-mortar business structures are more complicated but possible. Online E-commerce, Agencies, Stock/Crypto traders, etc., are more straightforward. The free conversation with our legal team will give you a clearer picture of the possible business structure.
Can I keep my citizenship while being a Bulgarian resident?
Yes. This is not an issue.
What is the typical timeline to establish a company in Bulgaria?
It takes up to four days to establish the company in Bulgaria. If a visa is required, that can take an additional three days.
Do I need a visa to setup a company in Bulgaria?
While only sometimes mandatory, a visa can provide legal residency and enhance your business prospects. We can guide you on the appropriate visa options based on your goals. EU citizens can work in all EU countries, including Bulgaria.
Can I operate multiple business activities under the one licence?
Yes, you can sometimes engage in multiple business activities under a single license in Bulgaria. This flexibility allows you to diversify your business offerings without needing separate permits.
How can your business services expedite the process for me?
Our business setup service streamlines the entire process through extensive knowledge, experience, and personal relationships with administration parties. We handle paperwork, liaise with authorities, and expedite approvals, ensuring a swift setup without compromising accuracy or compliance. We offer a complete hand-holding premium service.
Do I need to permanently live in Bulgaria?
The answer is NO! Another great benefit you have as an entrepreneur migrating to a Bulgarian tax residency is the non-requirement to spend most of your time in Bulgaria to be considered a resident.
Can I have a property in my current country of tax residence and still become a Bulgarian tax resident?
A property in your current country of tax residence may affect the process. We need to know the details to judge if this is an issue and to offer potential solutions. Book a free call today to get clarity on your unique situation.
Can I own company shares in my current country of tax residence and still become a Bulgarian tax resident?
We need to know the exact details to advise. Please book a free call today. Regardless, there is always a seamless workaround regarding company shares, which we'll discuss on the call.
Can I keep my personal bank account in my current country of tax residence and still become a Bulgarian tax resident?
Yes, from a Bulgarian perspective, it is not an issue, but having a personal bank account in your current country of tax residence can also be seen as a reason to be taxed there. Keep that in mind when deciding whether to keep your personal bank account rather than use a Bulgarian account (which we will set up) or use Revolut.
What about if I have children (below the age of 18)
Having children in your current country of tax residence may affect the process as this can interrupt proving your vital interest in Bulgaria. We need to understand your unique situation. Please book a free call today.
Is the Bulgarian baking system safe?
Yes, Bulgaria is part of the EU. Bulgaria has a stable banking system because the Bulgarian Lev has a fixed rate to the Euro. PayPal, Braintree, and Stripe are all available in Bulgaria.
Can I avoid paying high social securities in Europe?
Yes, According to the European Union laws and guidelines, one can only use a single country’s social security laws at any time. Therefore, you are required to pay your social security contributions to one country at a time. This is a massive bonus for Bulgaria because Bulgaria has the lowest social contribution fees. For approximately only 70 euros per month, you are completely covered by the nation’s insurance. The public national insurance fee is €200+ compared to Belgium and others.
What will happen if I am aboard and I need urgent medical support? Does Bulgaria cover me in case I am a tax resident there?
If you are insured in Bulgaria (see above), you are entitled to obtain a European health card (the blue one) that proves you are insured in another EU country, allowing you to use urgent medical support free of charge.
What should I do after switching to a Bulgarian tax residency in my country?
Once you obtain your tax number in Bulgaria and residency card, you should inform the authorities of the previous country of tax residency, separating old ties. Usually, there are special government bodies for citizens residing abroad. For instance, the one in Italy is called the Registry of Italians Resident Abroad (A.I.R.E.), which is handled by MAECI. This can also be handled by the local Embassy of the foreign country in Bulgaria.
Should I submit a tax declaration in my current country of residence if I switch to a Bulgarian tax residency?
It depends on the local legislation, but generally, you will only declare and pay your taxes in Bulgaria.
